Ordering and the Order Process

PDF Proof / Order Confirmation

As soon as your order is received by our prepress department, our staff will send you a PDF proof for approval as soon as possible (this depends on the accuracy of the artwork you provided as well as the department’s workload).

Once you have approved the PDF proof, our staff will do their very best to confirm the order as soon as possible.

You can request samples directly from our logistics department by emailing logistic@wisa.nl, and we will ship them to you as soon as possible.

At WISA Enschede, we strive to offer the most competitive prices directly from the source. To keep our product prices as low as possible for everyone, we pass on the specific costs for external payment providers, such as PayPal, directly to the user of that service. This way, you only pay for the services you actually use.

Large print runs and custom work

Are you looking for a larger print run than the quantities listed as standard for the product on our website? Please feel free to contact us for a custom quote with no obligation.

For larger quantities, different prices, production options, and lead times may apply. We would therefore be happy to review your request on a case-by-case basis and prepare a customized quote based on the desired specifications and print run.

You can contact us by phone, but we prefer to receive requests for larger print runs via email at office@wisa.nl. If possible, please include the desired product, the print run, the design/printing options, and any desired delivery or shipping date. This will allow us to review your request as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

Even if the desired design, size, or print run isn't listed on our website, please feel free to contact us. Thanks to our in-house production capabilities, we can often accommodate non-standard print runs and special production requests.

The minimum order quantity is listed for each product in our online store. You can view the available print runs and corresponding prices directly online.

As soon as you place an order, we’ll get to work on it almost immediately. In most cases, you’ll first receive a digital proof for review before we begin production.

Haven't you approved the proof yet? In many cases, you can still submit a change. Please submit any changes as soon as possible—and, if possible, before you receive the proof.

For each order, you will receive one digital proof, and one revision of that proof is free of charge. Additional charges may apply for further changes.

Once you have approved the proof, we will proceed immediately with production. From that point on, in many cases it will no longer be possible to change the order or the print file.

Would you like to make a change after placing your order? Please contact us immediately by phone at +31 53 461 15 15. We can then check right away whether a change is still possible.

To contact us, you can call or email us.

Printing and Personalization

PMS spot colors

When colours PMS colours , it is recommended that you use a PMS color chart.

What are PMS colours? PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. colours also colours as Pantone colours. PMS colours standardized colours the ink is mixed in advance to achieve the exact colour. What is the PMS color guide used for? A PMS color guide is a collection of color swatches. The PMS color guide is used to colour a colour . Each colour the guide corresponds to a code.
This color code can then be used in graphic design software.

For our products, the base material for cardboard and paper is always white.
Colored paper or cardboard is not available.

Print files can be submitted as Adobe Illustrator, EPS, TIFF, or JPG files with a resolution of at least 300 dpi, or as PDFs. Please email files larger than 10 MB via WeTransfer only to repro@wisa.nl

File submission specifications can be found with the products. An overview of all Templates here

The proof we send serves as a final check to prevent any errors that may occur during the transfer and processing of the files. This allows us to verify together that the print file has been imported correctly and to prevent ambiguities, errors, and miscommunications before production begins.

For rush orders, the available production time is shorter than what we normally need. To meet the agreed-upon shipping date, we would therefore like to begin production as soon as possible.

For rush orders with a production time of 3 business days, we do not send a proof in advance for this reason. This prevents valuable production time from being wasted on preparing, sending, and approving the proof.

For our other production times as well, you can choose the option to skip the proof in the online store. In that case, you won’t have to wait for the proof, and we can start working on your order immediately after we receive and review the files.

If you choose to proceed with production without a proof, it is important that the files you submit have been thoroughly checked and are ready for production.

The number of possible print locations varies by product. In our online store, each product clearly lists the available print locations and the options you can choose from.

If you do not have a preference for a specific Pantonecolour, please indicate this when placing your order. Our prepress department can then convert the provided colour to the closest possible Pantonecolour.

Please note that additional reproduction costs may apply. To avoid extra costs and any color discrepancies, we therefore recommend that you submit the print file directly in the correct print color.

If you want to submit a print file in a single- colour, there are two ways to do so:

You can create the design in 100% black (CMYK: 0/0/0/100) or directly in the desired Pantone C-colour.

Would you like to use a specific Pantonecolour ? If so, you can set it up using the Pantone color books in the graphics program you're using to create the print file.

Product Information

Filling balloons with helium

Non-flammable, non-explosive
All balloons we supply can be filled with helium gas. Helium gas is a natural noble gas that is non-flammable, non-explosive, and non-toxic, and is a component of our atmosphere. Authorized gas suppliers are happy to assist you with its delivery and usually provide a filling valve to make it easier to fill balloons yourself.

's Floating Time Since helium is extremely volatile, its shelf life is limited compared to balloons filled with air. Up to 12 hours for the 85/95 balloon size. Therefore, balloons filled with helium gas float for only a few hours (depending heavily on the chosen balloon size).

Inflation Method The inflation method is also extremely important: never inflate a helium balloon to 100% capacity; approximately 80% of the balloon’s actual capacity is sufficient. Since a balloon can rise to heights of many thousands of meters, it will expand in the atmosphere and thus have sufficient “space” to expand, making the chance of drifting far greater than with a 100% filled balloon. Also, never add air to the balloon filling (to potentially save money), as this does not benefit the balloon’s lift. Giant balloons, on the other hand, have a significantly larger capacity compared to normal balloons and therefore remain aloft much longer.

Recommendation:
We recommend an 85/95 cm balloon as the minimum size for helium filling

Balloon Decorations We recommend inflating the balloons as close to the time of use as possible. If you fill balloons with helium today, they will definitely be lying on the ground by tomorrow! However, this has nothing to do with quality, since they stay inflated for weeks when filled with air. Helium escapes through the pores of the natural latex.

DON’T LET THEM GO!
Wisa Enschede does not endorse the release of balloons. We advise against releasing helium-filled balloons to prevent environmental pollution and to ensure they do not end up in the atmosphere (however, releasing balloons is not prohibited by national law).

Helium gas is available exclusively from locally authorized gas depots.

Uninflated latex balloons are durable. When balloons are inflated, their surface area increases by about 15 to 20 times, causing them to age much faster than uninflated balloons because they are under tension. This tension causes the material to break down slowly.

UV radiation
When used outdoors, the quality of the balloons deteriorates even more rapidly. In the case of balloon decorations, etc., the aging process begins very quickly and accelerates even further at elevated temperatures. Air conditioning systems, for example, can also create an atmosphere that is highly oxidizing for balloons, as can other external factors such as UV radiation, daylight, sunlight, etc. As a result, the “glossy effect” of the balloons as you received them is quickly lost, and they may also pop more easily. Unfortunately, this cannot be prevented with any balloon, anywhere in the world.

Ozone is a real “rubber killer.” When exposed to high levels of ozone, natural latex can develop a strong, distinctive odor, and micro-cracks may form, which attack the surface of the balloon and further accelerate the aging process—potentially leading to leaks or the balloon bursting.

If you want to store and hand out balloons in a store, we recommend using a balloon tree. Placing them on the floor is fine on carpeted surfaces, but on stone, concrete, or wood floors, the very thin balloon walls may not be able to withstand the pressure, and the balloons could pop.

Making your own balloon decoration is very easy.

Shelf Life of Balloons
A general shelf life cannot always be specified, as storage conditions play a major role. That is why you will always find a packaging date and warning text on our balloon packaging, as well as storage and shelf-life recommendations stating that balloons can be stored for up to 1 year, provided our recommendations are followed (see also the packaging text). Failure to follow these recommendations will accelerate the aging process.

Storage of Uninflated Balloons
When storing a supply of balloons, it is important to take into account external factors such as UV radiation, daylight, sunlight, etc. These external factors can negatively affect the quality of the colours and the printing inks.

UV rays break down the high protein content in latex and alter its structure. As a result, the latex loses its unique flexibility, making the balloon more prone to bursting. This means that a latex balloon (a 100% natural product) will completely decompose after one year, rendering the balloons unusable (the aging process itself actually begins earlier). This is due to existing production and ingredient regulations under REACH and the Toy Safety Directive, which apply to balloons, ensuring that the permitted limits regarding composition are not exceeded.

We recommend storing the balloons in a dry, dark place for no longer than 12 months (at a temperature between 15° and 20° Celsius) to prevent the latex from sticking. Please also avoid temperatures below 10° Celsius, as this will cause the balloons to harden.

Balloons can be easily inflated with air. We offer a variety of balloon inflators and a hand pump in our product line. We recommend using a balloon inflator, especially when inflating large quantities of balloons. This allows you to inflate the balloons quickly, easily, and evenly.

We do not recommend blowing up balloons with your mouth. A balloon may burst unexpectedly while you’re inflating it, causing pieces of latex to end up in or around your mouth. Using a hand pump or an electric inflator is therefore a safer and more comfortable way to inflate balloons.

Please note: Balloons filled with air will not float. If you want the balloons to float, they must be filled with helium.

Do you want to be sure in advance that the final result will be exactly what you want? If so, we recommend ordering a print sample. With a print sample, you’ll receive a physical copy produced using your own design and print file.

This allows you not only to evaluate the colours and the print, but also to see the material, the size, and the overall appearance of the product in person. After all, a computer screen or digital proof can never fully capture how colours and materials will ultimately look in real life.

A proof is especially recommended for larger print runs, specific color requests, or when it’s important that the product matches your brand identity exactly. Any necessary adjustments can then be made before final production begins.

Are you satisfied with the print proof? If so, we can use the same print files for the final order. This minimizes the chance of surprises and gives you a better idea in advance of what to expect from the final product.

In short: a proof print gives you added peace of mind before you have a larger print run produced.

In most cases, the paper or cardboard we use is white and sourced from colour. Because we use sustainable materials whenever possible, the exact shade of white may vary slightly depending on the material or production process. As a result, the material may sometimes have a slightly warmer or less bright white appearance.

The base color of the material can affect the final appearance of the print. A slight difference may be visible, especially with light colours and specific corporate colors.

When accurate color reproduction is important, we therefore recommend ordering a print sample in advance. This allows you to assess the combination of the material and the print in person before the entire print run is produced.

Safety first
The Product Safety Act always raises many questions, which we are happy to answer as follows to the best of our ability: it is still unclear which products require a safety warning, because how are they supposed to print the regulations on a staple with advertising, on ballpoint pens, or on our balloons or party picks?

It’s just as strange to print a safety warning on balloons stating that they must be inflated with a pump and require adult supervision, when this safety warning can only be read once the balloon has already been inflated! This safety statement, along with our other instructions, is always printed in multiple languages on our balloon packaging (PE and PP bags) as standard. Do you want your customers to be able to identify which manufacturer produces the products for you? No! That’s why only our production code NL7532SH is indicated on our balloon packaging, party picks, etc., meaning that only you can recognize that we are the manufacturer. For example, if you order paper flags, sun visors, pinwheels, or other products, we can always print your own branding (such as your company logo or website) for you at no extra cost.

That is why the following is always of the utmost importance to us:
Please let us know to what extent we need to implement the Product Safety Info for you, and inform us whether you should be listed as the manufacturer/supplier or your customer’s name when placing this order (example: Production code: NL7532SH – produced for Jansen & Wilhelmus promotional items / www.jaundwil.nl). If you have any questions about this, or if you have information that might be useful to us, we’d be happy to help.

Will you choose green too?

Bamboo and the Environment
Land degradation is estimated to cost the global economy $2.3 trillion annually over the next 30 years. Bamboo offers a solution.
Bamboo is a grass, and all 1,640 species have a strong root system that binds the soil. It is a very fast-growing plant that is best suited for restoring unproductive agricultural land, controlling erosion, and stabilizing slopes.

35% more oxygen
A bamboo forest absorbs 5 times more CO2 and produces 35% more oxygen than an equivalent area of tree forest. Each hectare of bamboo forest absorbs 1,000 tons of CO2 per year.
After 2 to 5 years, the bamboo stalk is fully grown and ready for harvest. Assuming a 4-year growth circ. , 25% of the bamboo forest can be harvested each year without any decline in circ. .

Because so much CO2 is absorbed during growth, bamboo is much better for the environment than tropical hardwood—even after the bamboo stalks have been transported and processed into compressed bamboo.

The pulp for our napkins is bleached using the ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) process with oxygen and other chlorine-free chemicals such as chlorine dioxide (ClO₂), hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), and ozone (O₃). This process is more environmentally friendly than traditional bleaching with elemental chlorine, as it reduces the formation of harmful dioxins and other persistent organic pollutants.

Our balloons are manufactured in accordance with Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC, DIN standards EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3, EN 71-9, and EN 71-12, as well as REACH regulations, and have been tested by the German institutes Intertek, TÜV Saar, and SGS Fresenius

At Wisa, we manufacture our products with a focus on people, the environment, and the future. Whenever possible, we use certified and carefully selected materials that meet applicable quality and environmental standards.

In addition, we manufacture many of our products at our own factory in Enschede. This allows us to maintain control over the production process and manage materials, production, and waste streams efficiently.

We are constantly exploring ways to make our products and manufacturing processes more sustainable, without compromising on quality and functionality.

We also pay close attention to responsible waste management during our production process. The various waste streams generated during production are separated and collected separately as much as possible.

The sorted waste is then picked up by a specialized waste management company. There, the materials are properly processed and, where possible, recycled or reused as raw materials.

By carefully sorting waste and having it processed professionally, we strive to reduce the amount of residual waste and make the most efficient use of materials.
