Non-flammable, non-explosive
All balloons we supply can be filled with helium gas. Helium gas is a natural noble gas that is non-flammable, non-explosive, and non-toxic, and is a component of our atmosphere. Authorized gas suppliers are happy to assist you with its delivery and usually provide a filling valve to make it easier to fill balloons yourself.
's Floating Time Since helium is extremely volatile, its shelf life is limited compared to balloons filled with air. Up to 12 hours for the 85/95 balloon size. Therefore, balloons filled with helium gas float for only a few hours (depending heavily on the chosen balloon size).
Inflation Method The inflation method is also extremely important: never inflate a helium balloon to 100% capacity; approximately 80% of the balloon’s actual capacity is sufficient. Since a balloon can rise to heights of many thousands of meters, it will expand in the atmosphere and thus have sufficient “space” to expand, making the chance of drifting far greater than with a 100% filled balloon. Also, never add air to the balloon filling (to potentially save money), as this does not benefit the balloon’s lift. Giant balloons, on the other hand, have a significantly larger capacity compared to normal balloons and therefore remain aloft much longer.
Recommendation:
We recommend an 85/95 cm balloon as the minimum size for helium filling
Balloon Decorations We recommend inflating the balloons as close to the time of use as possible. If you fill balloons with helium today, they will definitely be lying on the ground by tomorrow! However, this has nothing to do with quality, since they stay inflated for weeks when filled with air. Helium escapes through the pores of the natural latex.
DON’T LET THEM GO!
Wisa Enschede does not endorse the release of balloons. We advise against releasing helium-filled balloons to prevent environmental pollution and to ensure they do not end up in the atmosphere (however, releasing balloons is not prohibited by national law).
Helium gas is available exclusively from locally authorized gas depots.
